Inlet Recruitment Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a recruitment business providing work-finding services to clients and work seekers.

To deliver these services, we process personal data, including special category personal data. For the purposes of data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), Inlet Recruitment Limited acts as a data controller.

You may provide your personal data directly to us, for example by submitting your CV, completing a registration or application form, or using our website. We may also collect your data from third-party sources such as job boards or referrals. We will only process your personal data in accordance with this notice.

Legitimate Interests

Who We Share Your Data With

We may share your personal data with:

  • Clients / employers when you are shortlisted or considered for a role
  • Umbrella companies (with your consent) if you accept a temporary role and do not operate your own payroll company
  • Recruitment software provider – your data is stored securely using software owned by Adapt E-Recruit
  • Government and regulatory bodies, including HMRC, and auditing or professional bodies such as the REC and ACS Registrars, where required by law

We do not sell your personal data.


Is Providing Data Mandatory?

Some personal data is required in order for us to provide recruitment services or meet legal obligations. You are not required to provide your data, but doing so may affect our ability to support you with work-finding services.


Overseas Transfers

We do not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).


How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary and in line with legal requirements.

  • Candidate records are kept for at least one year in accordance with the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003
  • If we place you in a role, your data is retained for six years from your start date to meet legal and regulatory obligations
  • Payroll records are retained for six years after the last payment is processed
  • Special category personal data processed with consent is retained in line with our retention policy, after which consent may be renewed or processing stopped

Your Data Protection Rights

You have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used
  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Restrict processing
  • Request erasure in certain circumstances
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Not be subject to automated decision-making or profiling

In some cases, we may not be able to delete data due to legal obligations (for example, payroll or tax records). Where this applies, we will explain why.

You may withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
